Honeymoon's over!

We just checked out of our nice luxuary honeymoon style room with air con and a private bathroom and balcony over looking the beach and into a residence that could have been made by me age ten. Ho hum...

The place on Koh Lanta we stayed in was lovely; empty white sandy beach surrounded by jungle and palm trees, warm silver sea, little bar on the beach serving cocnut shakes and cocktails.....extremely dodgy music, though.

All of the small animals in Thailand seem to have selected me as their food of choice, I'm like banana pancake to farang. We went snorkelling the other day, which I was unbelievably spacky at and had to cling on to the side of the boat with Dan coaching me. Unfortunately, all around the boat and near the island were thousends of little bits of snot. The snot, later revealed to be minijelly fish, stung me unrelentlessly all the time we were in the water. I ended up looking like I had a really bad case of measles.
The mosquitos found me first though and they are my most reliable customers. Somehow a bite that on Dan goes away after a day turns into a massive angry red welt on me, also I get at least three times as many. (Cheers to Dr Kate for giving me some anti histamine type stuff)

In other news, snorkeling turns out to be wicked after you get the hang of it, there were millions of multicoloured fish, angel fish and rainbow fish and coral and stuff. I've never seen coral before and it made me feel like I had been made microscopic and was looking at mould really close up (Like David Belamy but cooler).
Being in human soup was one of the most bizzare things I've done. It was completely dark and smelt of armpits and mild panic and arms and legs kept touching me. Everyone in the group coming the other direction was chanting and blowing whistles and the noise was all echoing around the caves. You just had to keep swimming along in what you thought was the direction you started out in.

We're in Krabi Town now and there's a festival with fire works and school children singing and stuff, I'm off to investigate, see you later.
