I got a great wind up music thing with snoopy on it from Boo Boo (who works there), a truely excellent traveling thing and I gave my present (a bottle of warm Chang and a Hellboy DVD) to an old woman with grey hair. I'm sure she loved it. THEN, as if the whole thing wasn't already making us wet our pants in glee, the lights went down and out came King Mincer in drag and pranced up and down a bit to some truely wonderful pop music. Yeay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But whats this???? He goes off and..... The lights go down again....
Out comes a cake saying Happy Birthday Dan on it, at which everyone begins to sing happy birthday with gay abandon.

We went off to Ann's bar (which has a life-sized metal model of the preditor in the door and a clientel of only 4 men all of whom are going out with the girls who work there). Ann had cooked a load of food for Dan's birthday and decorated the bar with balloons and flowers, on the strength of the fact that one of her regular customers used to work with Dan and we saw her last night and mentioned his birthday. (This is more than you get for dedicated years of friendship in Britain). This great woman (who i think of as a Thai version of Missey Eliot) also allowed Dan to take over the music in her bar and weirdly he met a bloke who had the same job, age, name, and music taste as him (Hello other Dan).
SO all was good.
We did go to a night club called Bubble which played non-descript dance music, (of the kind that people who don't really like music like) which had a large number of ladyboys in it, but I won't go into that.
